The Haida people have spiritual beliefs. They gave offerings to the creator, and thought that dead souls were transported to the spirit by canoe to await re-incarnation. Because of this, they believed that animals were more intelligent then humans, and lived like people. Many Haida still live traditional lives gathering clams and seaweed. People also make money through tourism and making traditional art.
